Focus Pull
by Rebecca

How We Did It
1) Chose a subject for the forground and a subject for the background and decide what is going to be in focus initially and what will be left in focus finally.
2) Set up the camera. You can use hand held which can be effective in POV for instance or a tripod to create a still shot or smooth moving shot.
3) Set camera to manual and use the manual focus dial to focus on one subject and then on the other.
4) Record the focus pull
Focus pulls are often used in movie trailers and music videos. The skill requires practice and uses as camera zoom.
